Renewing Vows in Paradise: A 20-Year Celebration at Royalton Antigua

As a travel agent, I often arrange trips and occasionally step into my client’s shoes to ensure everything goes perfectly. This was the case when I recently enjoyed staying at the Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa for a special occasion: a 20-year vow renewal. Let me take you through this magnificent experience, which might inspire your next getaway.

Arrival and First Impressions
I arrived at Royalton, Antigua, two days before our group of 39 to oversee the final preparations. The resort’s rooms were a delight – spacious with ample closet and drawer space, making it easy to settle in. The standout feature was the large shower with a seat, luxurious body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and plush robes to wrap up comfortably.

For those seeking an elevated experience, the Diamond Club rooms offer exclusives like a la carte dining at the Italian restaurant, access to a private lounge and bars, a sparkling pool, and a secluded beach area.

Navigating Group Accommodations
One vital tip for travelers: room locations within a hotel are not guaranteed. While we desire rooms close together or on the same floor, the hotel cannot always fulfill this. However, with a travel agent on site, we can sometimes work a little magic, though it’s never a promise.

Exceptional Service and Amenities
The service at Royalton was nothing short of excellent. Saydon, our cabana host, provided outstanding service, ensuring our private jacuzzi whirlpool was a retreat, with shaded dining and a TV for those sunnier moments. Elton from the onsite store went above and beyond, checking inventory across the property to help us find specific items without extra legwork.

Dining Experiences
Royalton Antigua boasts seven dining venues. The Italian restaurant was highlighted with its divine spinach risotto and grilled vegetables. The international buffet offered many choices, ensuring no wait times, although the food temperature could have been warmer. While we missed out on the Beach Club Grill, the Caribbean Restaurant served up a delicious steak and fried plantains that were a delight.

Entertainment and Local Excursions
The resort buzzed with activities each evening, from shows in the lobby to live music and karaoke sessions. Although a power outage prevented us from trying the hydrotherapy system, there was never a dull moment. A trip to Shirley Heights and Devil’s Bridge was a memorable part of our stay. Unlike my visit in January 2021, it was lively with music, vendors, and, of course, those breathtaking views.

Looking Ahead
Royalton Antigua is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a luxurious, all-inclusive resort experience. And for those interested in something new, keep an eye out for Royalton CHIC, which is set to open this month. This adults-only resort promises vibrant shows, a royal spa, and spectacular sunsets, all within a short drive from V.C. Bird International Airport.

Final Thoughts
A huge thank you to everyone who made our stay and vow renewal not just possible but truly magical – from Isha Phillips’s exceptional help to Thomas, our bellboy who provided extraordinary continuity from start to finish.
